NEW YORK -- Kevin Hayes, J.T. Miller and Michael Grabner have formed a very productive line this season and came through with another big night for the high-scoring New York Rangers.Rick Nash scored the tiebreaking goal with 1:21 remaining to lead the Rangers to a 5-3 victory over the Western Conference-leading Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night. Hayes had a goal and two assists, and Grabner and Miller each had a goal and an assist. We just bring a different element to the line, every one (of us), Grabner said. I think its been going pretty good and hopefully we can keep it up.Jesper Fast also scored for New York, which rallied from three one-goal deficits and won for the sixth time in seven games. Nick Holden had two assists and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 21 shots. The Rangers lead the NHL in scoring at 4.09 goals per game. The addition of Grabner, signed in the offseason, has played a big part as his line totaled seven points in this game and has combined for 14 goals and 15 assists on the season.Ever since that line was put together theyve probably been our most productive line, Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said. A lot of it has to do with decision-making of the two other guys, but Grabs speed probably scares the opposition a little bit. They played a real strong game. I played them a good portion of the game against their top two lines and I thought they did a real good job for us all night long.On the go-ahead goal, Holden fired a shot from the point that was blocked by Edmontons Milan Lucic. Nash corralled the loose puck in front of the net and fired it past Oilers goalie Cam Talbot for his 399th goal. It gave the Rangers their first lead of the game.Miller added an empty-netter 17 seconds later.Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Patrick Maroon and Adam Larsson scored for the Oilers, who lost their third straight (0-2-1) after starting the season 7-1-0. Talbot made 26 saves in his first game against the Rangers since being traded to Edmonton on June 27, 2015Little things happened here and there, little breakdowns, Nugent-Hopkins said. Theyre definitely a team that capitalizes on mistakes and we knew that coming in. We tried to limit those as much as we could. When theres a breakdown, they take advantage of it.Larsson put the Oilers ahead 3-2 at 8:49 of the third with a slap shot from the point for his first goal of the season.Fast tied it 42 seconds later as Brandon Pirri fired a shot from the point and Fast, streaking across in front, tipped it past Talbot for his first of the season. The Oilers took a 2-1 lead just past midway through the second as Jesse Puljijarvi skated up the right side and toward the net, waited while New York defenseman Dan Girardi went sliding by on his back, and backhanded the puck to Maroon, who fired it past Lundqvist.Grabner tied it with 4:14 left in the middle period with his sixth of the season. Hayes brought the puck up the right into the corner, dropped it to Miller, who sent it in front of the goal and Grabner fought off Larsson and sent a wrister past Talbot. In the first couple of periods we were kind of feeding their transition game, turning pucks over, and making mistakes, Grabner said. I think everyone on the ice and in the stands could see that, so it was nice to tie it up there.Nugent-Hopkins got the Oilers on the scoreboard first with his first of the season as Jordan Eberles centering pass from the left corner deflected off Connor McDavids skate to Nugent-Hopkins, who fired it in from the right side of the net at 6:36.McDavids assist gave the Oilers 19-year-old captain at least a point against every NHL team hes faced other than Carolina. He has yet to play Boston, Chicago, Florida, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay.Hayes tied it about two minutes later as Grabner got the rebound of Brady Skjeis point shot and sent a nifty pass across the front of the goal to Hayes, who fired it into the wide-open net.Game notes Edmontons Todd McLellan coached his 632nd game, moving past Terry Crisp for sole possession of 50th place on the NHL career list. Scotty Bowman tops the list with 2,141 games. ... Oilers LW Benoit Pouliot, who was on the Rangers 2013-14 Stanley Cup final team, played in his 495th career game. ... The teams conclude their season series Nov. 13 at Edmonton. ... Ryan McDonagh snapped an eight-game points streak, which was the longest by a Rangers defenseman since Brian Leetch had a 14-game streak from Oct. 30-Dec. 1, 1996. It was also the longest assists streak since Leetchs nine-game run Jan. 3-31, 1996.UP NEXTOilers: At the New York Islanders on Saturday night in the middle game of a five-game, eight-day trip.Rangers: At Boston on Saturday night in the front end of a back-to-back.---Follow Vin Cherwoo at www.twitter.com/VinCherwooAPJaime Barria Jersey . -- The proud fathers huddled near the Dallas Stars dressing room, smiling, laughing and telling stories while wearing replica green sweaters of their sons team. TORONTO -- The Baltimore Orioles made a detour through Minnesota before heading to Toronto for their important three-game series against Blue Jays that opens Friday at Rogers Centre. The Orioles lost a makeup game 6-2 to the Twins on Thursday night at Target Field and have dropped three in a row, including the final two games of a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Camden Yards. The Blue Jays are second in the American League East, 1 1/2 games behind the Orioles.Toronto also goes into series on a losing note. The Blue Jays failed to complete a sweep against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon and are 3-3 after the first six games of their nine-game homestand. The Blue Jays changed their rotation Wednesday, preferring to with knuckleballer R.A. Dickey against the Padres on three days rest and moving Marco Estrada (5-4, 2.94 ERA), and his wonky back, from Wednesday to Friday to face Baltimore. Dickey was not sharp and the Blue Jays lost 8-4.The move served another purpose.Russell Martin, who has a sore knee, caught 12 innings of a 7-6 win on Tuesday and was not going to play Wednesday. Josh Thole, Dickeys regular catcher, was going to spell Martin anyway on Wednesday even if Estrada pitched. With Russ knee, he wasnt going to Wednesday no matter what, so that factors, too, Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. Now you can catch Thole, and well go with our three best guys over the weekend, too. And it gives Marco -- who has had the back issues but feels much better -- another day, too.In their loss at Minnesota, the Orioles had two runners thrown out at home in the fourth inning. But they also got two hits from Chris Davis, which they hope is an encouraging sign.Davis has 22 homers for the season but is 5-for-37 with one RBI since the All-Starr break, and has not hit a home run since July 10.ddddddddddddAgainst the Blue Jays, however, Davis is batting .303 with 35 homers and 81 RBI. He has hit 17 homers at Rogers Centre.Mark Trumbo, who leads the American League with 30 homers, also has struggled. He went 1-for-4 Thursday and is in a 6-for-44 skid over 12 games, although he did hit home runs Friday and Saturday.I think you just have to understand that with power, youre going to have periods where everythings clicking, Davis said, where youre swinging the bat well, youre driving in runs, and youre going to have periods where youre going to have dry spells. The tough thing about having a guy like Mark right behind me is we both swing and miss a lot. So when one of us is going well, its good, but when neither one of us is going well, its bad. I think we just have to grind through it.The Orioles will start Kevin Gausman (2-7, 3.77 ERA) on Friday.Gausman is 2-1 with a 3.00 earned-run average in 10 career games, including five starts, against the Blue Jays. In six games, including three starts, Glausman is 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA at Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays won three of four games June 9-12 in the Orioles first visit to Toronto this season and the teams have won five games each overall.Estrada missed one start before the All-Star break because of a sore back and returned on July 22, allowing seven hits and two runs over six innings in a 2-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners. It was the first time since April 21 that he had allowed more than five hits in a start, a total of 13 outings. Estrada is 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA in eight career games, including six starts, against the Orioles. ' ' '
