The Buffalo Bills made a move to boost their return game, signing Brandon Tate on Tuesday.The veteran wide receiver was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Aug. 30.Tate, who turns 29 in October, played for the Bengals from 2011 to 2015 and had a franchise-leading 1,415 yards on 154 punt returns. He also was second in franchise history with 3,517 yards on 145 kickoff returns.Tate is expected to compete for a role as the Bills primary kick returner. Buffalo had seven players return kicks last season; among them, only Marquise Goodwin and Walter Powell remain on the roster. Overall, the Bills averaged the NFLs third-fewest yards per kick return (18.83) last season.Veteran running back Reggie Bush is expected to serve as the Bills primary punt returner this season.Tate never became a regular in the receiving lineup, however, and caught just two passes for 59 yards in 2015.
